This Day in Baseball History
On May 19, 1970, Hall of Fame catcher Ray Schalk died at the age of 77. An excellent defensive catcher, Schalk played in the 1917 and 1919 World Series for the Chicago White Sox. Schalk was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1955.
