Plaque Gallery

The Hall of Fame Gallery serves as the centerpiece of the historic National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and the ideal place where excellence is honored. Only one percent of those to have played baseball in the major leagues have earned a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Bronze plaques of all the Hall of Fame members line the oak walls creating a sanctuary for the game's legends to be remembered.

On the ramp down Inductee Row, leading into the Hall of Fame Gallery, Museum visitors can see artifacts representing the illustrious careers of all the inductees, as well as portraits of some of the more recent Hall of Famers at their Induction Ceremonies.

More about the Hall of Famers

The Hall of Fame features 297 members, including 2012 BBWAA electee Barry Larkin and 2012 Golden Era Era Committee electee Ron Santo. Included are 207 former Major League players, 35 Negro leaguers, 27 executives or pioneers, 19 managers and nine umpires. The Baseball Writers' Association of America has elected 112 former players to the Hall of Fame, while the Hall of Fame Committee to consider managers, umpires, executives and long-retired players has elected 159 candidates (94 Major Leaguers, 27 pioneers/executives, 19 managers, nine Negro Leaguers and nine umpires). The defunct Committee on Negro Leagues selected nine members between 1971-77 and the Special Committee on the Negro Leagues in 2006 elected 17 Negro leaguers. The Hall of Fame currently has 66 living members.
