Hall of Fame Induction Weekend Visitors Urged to Utilize Special Parking Options
Peripheral Lots, Shuttle and Trolley Services Provide Multiple Choices for Travelers
(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Visitors to Cooperstown for the 2017 Induction Weekend, including the Saturday, July 29 Awards Presentation and the Sunday, July 30 Induction Ceremony, are advised to utilize several parking and transportation options in an effort to alleviate potential delays and traffic problems.
The 2017 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown. Travelers are advised to allow plenty of time to find parking and transportation to the Induction Site. Because of its small size – with a year-round population of fewer than 2,000 residents and just one traffic light – Cooperstown will fill up quickly during Hall of Fame Weekend. Parking arrangements detailed below will be in place for Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30.
Three trolley lots, located just outside the village limits and color-coded in red, blue and yellow, are available for those visitors in the immediate Cooperstown village area. Parking in these lots is free, and a trolley ticket good for unlimited daily transportation costs $2 per person. The trolley service will operate from 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily all weekend.
Parking spots in these lots are limited. Trolleys will run only from the lots to regular stops in the village. Trolleys will not run to and from the Induction site. Hall of Fame shuttle service will provide free shuttle buses from the corner of Main and Fair streets to the Induction site, with continuous service from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and then resuming at the conclusion of the Induction Ceremony. Shuttles will not run during the Induction Ceremony.

The July 28-31 Induction Weekend will feature four days filled with family-friendly events in Cooperstown as Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines, Iván Rodríguez, John Schuerholz and Bud Selig are inducted as the Class of 2017 at the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Induction Ceremony takes place at 1:30 p.m. on July 30 on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center, one mile south of the Hall of Fame on Susquehanna Avenue. Admission to the Induction Ceremony is free, and the Induction Site opens at 7 a.m. on Sunday, July 30.
The 2017 Induction Ceremony will be televised live on MLB Network, broadcast nationally on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM and will be available via a webcast at baseballhall.org.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum maintains the following Hall of Fame Weekend hours: Friday, July 28: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday, July 29: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Plaque Gallery closes at 4:30 p.m.); Sunday, July 30: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Monday, July 31: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Advance tickets are not necessary but are available at baseballhall.org/visit. For Hall of Fame Members, doors open at 7 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and at 8 a.m. on Monday. As always, Hall of Fame Members receive free admission. Interested parties may enroll in the Membership Program in advance or at the Museum.
