Celebrate Father’s Day Weekend at Price Chopper Day at the Hall of Fame on June 18

All AdvantEdge Card Holders and Three of Their Guests Admitted to Museum Free

COOPERSTOWN, NY – Visitors to Cooperstown this Father's Day Weekend will take advantage of the history and family fun unique to the Hall of Fame Classic.

But for holders of Price Chopper's AdvantEdge Card, the trip to the home of baseball will also mean a special chance to visit the Hall of Fame and experience all of the memories and thrills inside the Museum's legendary walls.

Saturday, June 18 is Price Chopper Day at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, with all AdvantEdge Card holders – and up to three of their guests – admitted to the Museum for free. Museum hours run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 18, the day before the Hall of Fame Classic at Doubleday Field.

The Father's Day Hall of Fame Classic is a seven-inning legends game featuring Hall of Famers Andre Dawson, Goose Gossage, Phil Niekro, Jim Rice, Ozzie Smith and Dick Williams. Tickets remain for the Hall of Fame Classic and can be purchased at the Museum or by calling 607-547-0397. Tickets are $12.50 for first and third base seats and $11 for outfield seats.

The 2011 Baseball Hall of Fame Classic is co-organized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. For the third straight year, Ford Motor Company is the Presenting Sponsor of the Hall of Fame Classic.

Among the former big league players scheduled to participate in the Classic are Frank Catalanotto, Dave Fleming, Doug Glanville, Dave Henderson, Bill Lee, Dale Murphy, Billy Sample, Reggie Sanders, Willie Wilson, Rick Wise and Dmitri Young.

In addition to the Price Chopper Day, other activities planned for Classic Weekend include a Hall of Fame golf tournament fundraiser for the Museum, the new Classic Fest at Doubleday Field, the Youth Skills Clinic, a photo opportunity featuring the seven Hall of Fame legends, a Voices of the Game event featuring the six Hall of Famers and other unique programs throughout the Museum.

The Hall of Fame Classic will be preceded by the Cooperstown Game Day Parade, presented by the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce, the village of Cooperstown and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, beginning at noon on Father's Day on Main Street. Game participants will ride in the parade on their way to Doubleday Field. The Legends Hitting Contest will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the Hall of Fame Classic at 2 p.m.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. The Museum observes summer hours of 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. from Memorial Day Weekend until the day before Labor Day.
