COOPERSTOWN, NY – Dick Williams spent his Hall of Fame managerial career turning losing teams into winning franchises.

On Sunday in Cooperstown, Williams will manage his greatest team ever at the Hall of Fame Classic – and he'll skipper a guaranteed winner, as he strives to become the first manager to lead both teams in a single game, as the manager of Team Ozzie and Team Niekro during the annual Father's Day legends game at Doubleday Field.

Williams is one of six Hall of Fame heroes who will participate in the June 19 Hall of Fame Classic, presented by Ford Motor Company. He'll manage star-studded teams that will include Hall of Famers Andre Dawson, Goose Gossage, Phil Niekro, Jim Rice and Ozzie Smith, along with more than 20 former big leaguers.

"I had some great managerial challenges in my career, but I'm not sure you can top trying to manage both teams in a single day," said Williams, who skippered four pennant winners and two World Series champions in 21 big league seasons with the Red Sox, A's, Angels, Expos, Padres and Mariners. "I can't wait to manage these rosters of Hall of Fame legends and the game's greats. The best part is that at the end of the day, my team is going to win."

The National Baseball Hall of Fame will host Hall of Fame Classic Weekend, June 18-19, with the participation of the six Hall of Fame members highlighting the third-annual Hall of Fame Classic, which will once again be staged in conjunction with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.

Former major leaguers scheduled to appear at the Hall of Fame Classic include Frank Catalanotto, Dave Fleming, Doug Glanville, Dave Henderson, Bill Lee, Dale Murphy, Billy Sample, Reggie Sanders, Willie Wilson, Rick Wise and Dmitri Young.

Tickets remain for the Father's Day Hall of Fame Classic and can be purchased by calling (607) 547-0397 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or by visiting the Museum Store at the Hall of Fame. Tickets are $12.50 for first and third base seats and $11 for outfield seats.

The Hall of Fame Classic will be once again preceded by the Cooperstown Game Day Parade, presented by the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce, the village of Cooperstown and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, beginning at noon on June 19 on Main Street. Game participants will ride in the parade on their way to Doubleday Field. Following the Cooperstown Game Day Parade, the Legends Hitting Contest will be held at Doubleday Field at 1 p.m., followed by the Hall of Fame Classic at 2 p.m.

Hall of Fame Classic Weekend also includes a Hall of Fame golf tournament fundraiser for the Museum, the Youth Skills Clinic, the Hall of Fame Classic Fest at Doubleday Field, a photo opportunity featuring the six Hall of Fame legends, a Voices of the Game event featuring the six Hall of Famers and other unique programs throughout the Museum.
