July 03, 2012

COOPERSTOWN, NY – The National Pastime and the uniquely Americana music of Dan Bern come together on the Fourth of July in Cooperstown as the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates Independence Day.

Bern and the band Common Rotation will perform a 90-minute concert at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Hall of Fame’s Grandstand Theater. Bern will sing baseball-themed songs from his new album Doubleheader.

Bern’s performance is supported in part by Hungry for Music, a Washington, D.C.-area program which donates musical instruments for under-served children. Tickets to the concert are included with Museum admission, but must be reserved in advance by calling the Museum’s Membership Department at 607-547-0397. Any remaining tickets can be reserved on the morning of the show at the Museum’s Membership Services desk.

Visitors to the Hall of Fame on Wednesday can also enjoy patriotic craft activities and demonstrations for the whole family as the Museum celebrates America’s 236th birthday. Because of the special performance, showings of “The Baseball Experience” in the Grandstand Theater will be suspended from 12 noon until 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
