Hall of Famer Bobby Cox Returns to Cooperstown to Host Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open Pro-Am Sept. 2
Annual Event Benefits Pathfinder Village and Hall of Fame’s Educational Programs
(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – As a big league manager, Bobby Cox built his Atlanta Braves teams into some of the most consistent winners baseball has ever seen.
As a Hall of Famer, Cox is building bridges with his new Central New York neighbors as the celebrity host for the 32nd Annual Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open and Pro-Am Golf Tournament.
Following a memorable Hall of Fame Weekend that packed Cooperstown with thousands of Braves fans, Cox will return to Otsego County as the celebrity host of the Sept. 2-5 Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open and Pro-Am at the Leatherstocking Golf Course. Cox will participate in the Sept. 2 Pro-Am, while nearly 100 top pros from around the country are expected to compete in the Seniors Open, which runs Wednesday through Friday, Sept. 3-5. Free admission will be provided for fans at the Sept. 3-5 Seniors Open.
As the Pro-Am master of ceremonies, Cox – a four time Manager of the Year Award winner who led the Braves to 14 first-place finishes and the 1995 World Series title between 1991 and 2005 – will be featured throughout the Tuesday, Sept. 2 Pro-Am and as the speaker at that evening’s fundraiser dinner. The golf event begins with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. For more information on the Pro-Am or to register to play, please visit www.pathfindervillage.org.
Proceeds from this event benefit Pathfinder Village located in nearby Edmeston, a residential community dedicated to children and adults with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities. Annually, the Seniors Open raises more than $50,000 for scholarships for Pathfinder Village and directly helps the Village’s 90-plus residents. More than $2 million has been raised for Pathfinder Village through the years.
Proceeds also benefit the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum educational programs, which enables the world-famous Museum to fulfill its educational mission and care for its priceless collections.
