Legends to Share Memories June 16 at Hall of Fame Classic Weekend Voices of the Game Program

COOPERSTOWN, NY – Memories live forever in Cooperstown, but fans at the June 16 Hall of Fame Classic will only have to wait a few hours before sharing the excitement of the annual Father’s Day Weekend legends game with six Hall of Fame heroes.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will host a memorable Voices of the Game program at Doubleday Field at 7 p.m. on June 16, the same day the Hall of Fame Classic. Six Hall of Fame legends – Bert Blyleven, Carlton Fisk, Eddie Murray, Phil Niekro, Tony Pérez and Ozzie Smith –are scheduled to be on hand for the one-hour roundtable program which will feature memorable stories from the Hall of Fame heroes and a question-and-answer session with the audience.
A ticket is required for this event and costs $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets can be reserved now by calling the Hall of Fame’s Membership department at 607-547-0397.
The Hall of Fame Classic Voices of the Game program is just part of an action-packed Hall of Fame Classic Weekend at the Baseball Hall of Fame – highlighted by the June 16 legends game at Doubleday Field. Tickets remain for the Hall of Fame Classic and can be purchased exclusively at baseballhall.org or by calling 1-866-849-7770. Tickets are $12.50 for first and third base seats and $11 for outfield seats.
The 2012 Baseball Hall of Fame Classic is co-organized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. For the fourth straight year, Ford Motor Company is the Presenting Sponsor of the Hall of Fame Classic.
Among the former big league players committed to participate in the Classic are Jesse Barfield, Dante Bichette, Brian Boehringer, John Doherty, Brian Fisher, Howard Johnson, Russ Ortiz, Dennis Rasmussen, Jon Warden, Rick Wise and Dmitri Young.
In addition to the Voices of the Game event, other activities planned for Classic Weekend include a Hall of Fame golf tournament fundraiser for the Museum, the Youth Skills Clinic, and other unique programs throughout the Museum.
The Hall of Fame Classic will be preceded by the Cooperstown Game Day Parade, presented by the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce, the village of Cooperstown and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, beginning at noon on Father’s Day on Main Street. Game participants will ride in the parade on their way to Doubleday Field. The Legends Hitting Contest will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the Hall of Fame Classic at 2 p.m.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The Museum observes summer hours of 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. from Memorial Day Weekend until the day before Labor Day. From Labor Day until Memorial Day Weekend, the Museum observes daily regular hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Ticket prices are $19.50 for adults (13 and over), $12 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $7 for juniors (ages 7-12). Members are always admitted free of charge and there is no charge for children 6 years of age or younger.
