Museum’s Authors Series Programs Bring Latest Baseball Stories to Cooperstown

Lectures, Book Signings Held Throughout the Summer at Hall of Fame’s Bullpen Theater

COOPERSTOWN, NY – The story of baseball is told every day at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. But this summer, some of the latest unique and inspirational stories of the National Pastime will be celebrated through the Museum’s Authors Series program.

The Hall of Fame will host seven Authors Series events throughout the summer, bringing noted baseball authors to Cooperstown for special lectures and book signings. The Authors Series programs are held in the Museum’s Bullpen Theater at 1 p.m. (except where noted) and are included with Museum admission.

The schedule for the summer includes:

June 19 Johnny Antonelli: A Baseball Memoir, by Scott Pitoniak and Johnny Antonelli

July 3Bill Veeck: Baseball’s Greatest Maverick, by Paul Dickson

July 10Pinstripe Empire: The New York Yankees from Before the Babe to After the Boss, by Marty Appel

July 20Rick Ferrell: Knuckleball Catcher, by Kerrie Ferrell *2 p.m.

July 24Banzai Babe Ruth: Baseball, Espionage & Assassination During the 1934 Tour of Japan, by Rob Fitts

August 14Fenway Park: The Centennial, by Saul Wisnia

August 28Fenway Park: A Salute to the Coolest, Cruelest, Longest-Running Major League Baseball Stadium in America, by John Powers and Ron Driscoll

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The Museum observes summer hours of 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. from Memorial Day Weekend until the day before Labor Day. From Labor Day until Memorial Day Weekend, the Museum observes daily regular hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Ticket prices are $19.50 for adults (13 and over), $12 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $7 for juniors (ages 7-12). Members are always admitted free of charge and there is no charge for children 6 years of age or younger.
