Museum to Celebrate Bronx Bombers with Yankees Family Days in August

Celebration Features Yankee-Themed Programming Aug. 10 and Aug. 24; BASE Race Registrants Receive Free Museum Admission on Saturday

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – For fans of the game’s most historic franchise, Cooperstown remains the ultimate destination. 

Now, Yankees supporters can experience the history of the Bronx Bombers at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in August during a pair of days emblazoned with pinstripes. 

The Museum will host Yankees Family Day on two Saturdays – Aug. 10 and 24 – in August in celebration of the heroes, legends and moments throughout the amazing history of the New York Yankees. The Museum will feature guided exhibit tours, artifact spotlights, trivia contests, themed craft stations and other special opportunities throughout both days. 

The Museum will provide registrants for the Sunday, Aug. 11 BASE Race with complimentary admission on Saturday as part of the Yankees Family Day celebration. The Museum, along with Cooperstown’s Clark Sports Center, will present the second annual BASE Race, which promotes healthy lifestyle choices for individuals of all ages and debuted to rave reviews in 2012. The BASE Race includes a family-style 5K and a competitive 10K, with both races starting and ending at Cooperstown’s Clark Sports Center. Race times are 8 a.m. for the 10K and 8:15 a.m. for the 5K. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The Museum observes regular hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. from Labor Day until Memorial Day Weekend. From Memorial Day through the day before Labor Day, the Museum is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week. Ticket prices are $19.50 for adults (13 and over), $12 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $7 for juniors (ages 7-12).
