Share Baseball Memories with Seven Hall of Famers at Saturday’s Voices of the Game Program

COOPERSTOWN, NY – The Baseball Hall of Fame brings history to life year-round in Cooperstown.

But on Saturday, living history – in the form of seven Hall of Fame legends – is coming to town for fans to see, hear and share.

The latest installment of the Hall of Fame’s Voices of the Game program will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, at Cooperstown High School’s Sterling Auditorium. Hall of Famer’s Gary Carter, Bob Feller, Rollie Fingers, Goose Gossage, Harmon Killebrew, Phil Niekro and Ozzie Smith will participate in the program, which will feature memorable stories from the legends and a question-and-answer session with the audience.

A ticket is required for this event and costs $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Members and non-members may reserve spots now by calling the Hall of Fame’s Membership department at 607-547-0397.

Members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum receive free admission to the Museum, as well as access to exclusive programs, such as the Voices of the Game Series. The Voices of the Game program is just part of an action-packed Hall of Fame Classic Weekend at the Baseball Hall of Fame – highlighted by Sunday’s 2 p.m. legends game at Doubleday Field. Tickets remain for the Hall of Fame Classic and can be purchased by calling the Hall of Fame’s Membership Department at 607-547-0397. Tickets are $12.50 for first and third base seats and $11 for outfield seats. The seven Hall of Famers at Saturday’s Voices of the Game event will each appear at Sunday’s Hall of Fame Classic.

The 2010 Baseball Hall of Fame Classic is co-organized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. Ford Motor Company will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Baseball Hall of Fame Classic.

Among the 20 other recently retired players committed to participate in the Classic include former major league stars Kevin Bass, Paul Blair, Brian Boehringer, Bert Campaneris, John Doherty, Dave Fleming, Jay Johnstone, Jeff Kent, Tim Leary, Bill Madlock, Mike Pagliarulo, Dennis Rasmussen and Rich Surhoff.

The Hall of Fame Classic will be preceded by the Cooperstown Game Day Parade, presented by the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce, the village of Cooperstown and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, beginning at noon on Main Street. Game participants will ride in the parade on their way to Doubleday Field. The Legends Hitting Contest will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the Hall of Fame Classic at 2 p.m.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Museum is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week. The Museum observes regular hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. from the day after Labor Day until Memorial Day Weekend. Ticket prices are $16.50 for adults (13 and over), $11 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $6 for juniors (ages 7-12).
