World Series Weekend-Chicago Cubs

As the pennant races heat up, the symbol of the Cubs’ historic championship will come to Cooperstown.

The Hall of Fame will host Cubs Weekend Aug. 26-27, with the 2016 World Series Trophy on display at the Museum both days. Museum visitors will have the chance to relive the 2016 season and create new memories in Cooperstown, where artifacts of the Cubs’ world title will be preserved forever.

The trophy will be on exhibit at the Museum from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27. Visitors will be permitted to take pictures with the trophy.

The Museum will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. both days. Throughout the weekend, visitors can learn about the history of the Chicago Cubs through guided exhibit tours, artifact spotlights, player profiles, trivia contests, themed craft stations and other special opportunities.

9:00 AM– 5:00 PM — 2016 World Series Trophy Photo Opportunity (Autumn Glory Exhibit, 3rd Floor)

Swing by our Autumn Glory Exhibit to take your picture with the 2016 Cubs World Series Trophy!

10:00 am: Plaques of the Gallery Tour (Buck O’Neil Award, 1st Floor)

This program educates visitors about the history of the Hall of Fame Gallery and the process by which each plaque is made and installed. In honor of World Series Weekend we will also highlight the 10 Cubs Hall of Famers.

11:00 am: Road Trip to Cooperstown—World Series Trophy (Bullpen Theater, 1st Floor)

Join the Executive Vice President of the Chicago Cubs, Michael Lufrano, as he talks about the road trip to Cooperstown with the World Series Trophy. The tour was designed to share the team’s historic hardware with Cubs fans throughout Chicago, the Midwest and now Cooperstown.

12:00 pm: Artifact Spotlight– Cubs Edition (Bullpen Theater, 1st Floor)

Hall of Fame staff share the stories of unseen items from our collection of over 40,000 artifacts that are not currently on display. This presentation will highlight items that tell the stories of the Cubs’ organization.

1:00 pm: Guided Museum Tour Highlighting Cubs Artifacts on Display (Locker Room, 2nd Floor)

This guided tour throughout the museum will focus on artifacts displayed in the museum that highlight the history of the Cubs’ organization. This tour will end at the World Series Trophy on the 3rd Floor.

2:00 pm: ESPN 30 for 30 Documentary: Catching Hell (Bullpen Theater, 1st Floor)

Join us as we screen this incisive documentary which uses the case of Steve Bartman to examine the widespread phenomenon of scapegoating in the sports world. Directed and written by Alex Gibney. 102 mins.

4:00 pm: So You Think You Know Baseball? (Bullpen Theater, 1st Floor)

Test your knowledge of baseball history in this interactive game show. Make your way through nine 'innings' of questions and win a free commemorative Hall of Fame gift.
