April Adventures Week

The start of the 2019 campaign is under way, and fans and students alike can experience the thrills of the new season as the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum presents April Adventures Week fun for the whole family April 15 - April 19 in Cooperstown.

With many schools in the Northeast on break the week of April 15 - April 19, the Museum will provide daily educational programs for kids of all ages through Friday. Museum visitors can compete in baseball knowledge game shows, hands on history carts, and participate in guided tours through the museum.

These daily experiences are included with the cost of museum admission.

Jackie Robinson Day

10:30 am: Plaques of the Gallery Tour

Aimed at visitors of all ages, this program educates visitors about the Plaque Gallery’s history, the process of creating a Hall of Fame plaque, and the meaning of being a Hall of Famer.

11:30 am: Curator Spotlight: Pride and Passion

In honor of Jackie Robinson Day, visitors will have the opportunity to go on a special guided tour of the Pride and Passion exhibit, led by a Hall of Fame Curator. This experience gives visitors the unique opportunity to learn about the creation process behind our exhibits.

1:30 pm: Screening of the Film “42”

The life story of Jackie Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey is told in this award-winning film by Legendary Entertainment. Rated PG-13 for thematic elements including language.

Tuesday, April 16th

Aimed at visitors of all ages, this program educates visitors about the Plaque Gallery’s history, the process of creating a Hall of Fame plaque, and the meaning of being a Hall of Famer.

11:30 am: Mining for Talent

Drop and test your ability to sift through data and identify baseball talent. Hall of Fame staff will present you with several scouting reports of some of baseball’s all-time greats, with one catch: all details identifying each future star will be removed. The challenge: choose future stars to build your team around.

1:00 pm: Plaques of the Gallery Tour

Aimed at visitors of all ages, this program educates visitors about the Plaque Gallery’s history, the process of creating a Hall of Fame plaque, and the meaning of being a Hall of Famer.

2:00 pm: History of Collecting Baseball Cards

Come on by and learn about how baseball cards have changed over the years, from tobacco cards to cards issued with candy and gum, and how Sy Berger introduced the modern day baseball card.

Wednesday, April 17th

This interactive room allows families to explore baseball history through hands-on items from the Hall of Fame’s education collection. Learn how the equipment and style of the uniforms have changed over time.

2:00 pm: So You Think You Know Baseball?

Test your knowledge of baseball history in this interactive game show for fans of all ages! Make your way through all nine innings, and you could win a free commemorative Hall of Fame gift. Put your wits to the test and see if you’ve got what it takes to walk away a winner!
