Hall of Fame Birthday Celebration
The Museum will celebrate its 80th birthday on Wednesday, June 12, reflecting on the historic events of that day in 1939 as the Hall of Fame was formally commemorated. Special programs will fill the day on Wednesday.
All Day - 80th Anniversary Card (Museum Lobby)
Wish a Happy Birthday to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by signing our birthday card, located the Main Entrance in the Museum Lobby on the first floor.
10:30am - Plaques of the Gallery Tour (Buck O'Neil Statue)
Aimed at visitors of all ages, this program educates visitors about the history of the Hall of Fame Gallery and the process by which each plaque is made and installed in this 20 minute guided tour.
11:00am - Anniversary Birthday Cupcakes (Plaque Gallery)
Join us in front of the first class as we celebrate the Hall of Fame's 80th Birthday with special Hall of Fame themed cupcakes.
1:00pm - Author Series: Dan Schlossberg (Bullpen Theater)
Former AP sportswriter and longtime travel writer Dan Schlossberg covers the record-breaking era that transformed the Atlanta Braves from a laughingstock into America’s Team. This newly revised edition of the book features additional material on new Hall of Famers Chipper Jones and team architect John Schuerholz.
2:30pm - Hall of Fame Birthday Recap (Bullpen Theater)
Join us as we recap on the last 80 years of the Hall of Fame. Photos and artifacts from the Hall of Fame's collection will be shown as we talk about the history of the museum and Induction Ceremony.
3:30pm - So You Think You Know Baseball? (Bullpen Theater)
Test your knowledge of baseball history in this interactive game show for fans of all ages! Make your way through all nine innings, and you could win a free commemorative Hall of Fame gift. Put your wits to the test and see if you’ve got what it takes to walk away a winner!
