Virtual Author Series: Jonathan Eig
Joining us for the first ever Lou Gehrig Day is critically acclaimed author and biographer Jonathan Eig, who wrote the award-winning Luckiest Man: The Life and Death of Lou Gehrig. Eig will discuss the impact of the first Gehrig Day celebration, while providing insight into the life of one of baseball’s true heroes. Luckiest Man earned the Casey Award as the best baseball book of 2005.
Eig, who delivered the keynote address at the Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture in 2005, has written five books, including Opening Day: The Story of Jackie Robinson’s First Season. He is currently working on a biography of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
