The Hall of Fame celebrates Roberto Clemente Day by talking to longtime executive Luis Mayoral, who has worked for five decades within the game as a journalist, broadcaster, and team official.
Luis, a close friend of Clemente and the entire Clemente family, was the first person hired by a major league team to serve as a Latin American liaison, helping players from the Caribbean adjust to life in the states while serving as a team translator.
Luis will offer his personal memories of Clemente, giving rare insight into Roberto’s personality, determination and sense of humor.
This virtual program is free, but registration is required. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions via the zoom chat function as time allows.
