World Series Weekend - Boston Red Sox

Join us as we welcome the Boston Red Sox World Series Championship Trophy to Cooperstown.

The Hall of Fame will host Red Sox Weekend July 6th-7th, with the 2018 World Series Trophy on display at the Museum both days. Museum visitors will have the chance to relive the 2018 season and create new memories in Cooperstown, where artifacts will be preserved forever.

The trophy will be on exhibit at the Museum from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 6th and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 7th. Visitors will be permitted to take pictures with the trophy.

The Museum will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. both days. Throughout the weekend, visitors can learn about the history of the Boston Red Sox through guided exhibit tours, artifact spotlights, player profiles, trivia contests, themed craft stations and other special opportunities.

These events are free with museum admission.

10:30am - Plaques of the Gallery Tour – Red Sox Edition
Aimed at visitors of all ages, this program educates visitors about the history of the Hall of Fame Gallery. This Red Sox specific tour will highlight some of the greatest to ever wear the Red Sox uniform over the years.

11:30am – Artifact Spotlight – Red Sox Edition
Hall of Fame staff share the stories of unseen items from our collection of over 40,000 artifacts that are not currently on display. This presentation will highlight items related to historic moments in Red Sox history.

1:00pm – Author Series
Join David Mellor, head groundskeeper for the Red Sox, as he discusses his book One Base at a Time: How I Survived PTSD and Found My Field of Dreams. The Boston Globe calls David’s autobiography “one of baseball’s most inspirational stories over the last half-century.” After the discussion, join David in the library atrium, where he will sign copies of the book!

3:00pm – Autumn Glory Exhibit Tour
This guided tour through our exhibit dedicated to the World Series Champions each year will highlight Red Sox artifacts from the 2018 World Series.

4:00pm – So You Think You Know Baseball: Red Sox Edition
Test your knowledge of Red Sox history in this interactive game show for fans of all ages! Make your way through all nine innings, and you could win a free commemorative Hall of Fame gift.

11:00am – World Series Trophy Program with Dan Lyons
Join us for a conversation with Dan Lyons, Senior Manager of Entertainment for the Boston Red Sox. Dan has worked for the Red Sox for 40 seasons and is currently traveling with the 2018 World Series trophy. Learn about how the trophy travels from location to location, and the other responsibilities Dan has had over the last 39 years with the team.

1:00pm – Green Monster Craft
This arts-and-crafts program for our younger visitors allows children to create their own “Green Monster”.

2:00pm – A Day at Fenway
This program dedicated to discussing the home of the Red Sox will explore the history of Fenway Park and its game day traditions. Join us and share your memories and favorite moments from the Red Sox historic home.
