In 1936, the first balloting was held for election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Ty Cobb received the most votes of the five electees and came within four votes of unanimity.
This glove (item # B-305.66) was used by Cobb in 1912 while playing for the Detroit Tigers will receive much needed conservation work, thanks to a generous gift from former Tigers executive and retired Hall of Fame senior Vice President Bill Haase.
