Presidents' Week

Seventy years ago this spring, Jackie Robinson made history for the Brooklyn Dodgers – helping fulfill baseball’s destiny as America’s National Pastime.

As many schools in the northeast pause for Winter Break, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates Robinson’s heroic journey – along with countless other milestones – in honoring Black History Month.

The Cooperstown shrine hosts special daily programs for kids of all ages Feb. 20-24 as part of Presidents’ Week. Families can experience unique Museum artifacts through guided tours, learn about the history of African Americans in baseball and participate in programming throughout the week.

All events are included with Museum admission and the schedule is as follows:

Monday, February 20th

10:00 am: Plaques of the Gallery Tour

Aimed at visitors of all ages, this program educates visitors about the Plaque Gallery’s history, the process of creating a Hall of Fame plaque, and the meaning of being a Hall of Famer.

11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Open Hour in the Learning Center

This interactive room allows families to explore baseball history through hands-on items from the Hall of Fame’s education collection. Stop by and learn how the equipment and style of the uniforms have changed over time.

1:00 pm: Blacklist Baseball

Learn about the vibrant history of the Negro Leagues in the premier of this program that looks at the life of players banned from the Major Leagues.

Tuesday, February 21st

10:00 am: Plaques of the Gallery Tour

Aimed at visitors of all ages, this program educates visitors about the Plaque Gallery’s history, the process of creating a Hall of Fame plaque, and the meaning of being a Hall of Famer.

11:00 am: Hands on History

Join us for a brief history of baseball equipment. This interactive display contains equipment that showcases the evolution of baseballs, bats, and gloves over the course of baseball history.

1:00 pm: Baseball and the American President

Did you know that almost every American President has a connection to baseball? Learn about American Presidents and their connection with baseball from Washington to Trump.

Wednesday, February 22nd
