Collection Care and Conservation Workshop

Preserve and Care for Your Personal Collection

Almost all fans of the game collect something to preserve our baseball memories and share them with friends and family. You may collect baseball cards, autographed baseballs, jerseys, photographs or programs.

Now you can learn from the experts at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum how to care for these special items and ensure that they are preserved for future generations of your family.

This workshop will give you the knowledge you need to care for your own collection, using the same techniques developed by the professionals who care for the collection in Cooperstown.

Hall of Fame vice president of exhibitions and collections, Erik Strohl, gives the backstory on artifacts from the collection during an Artifact Spotlight. (Milo Stewart, Jr. / National Baseball Hall of Fame)

Workshop Overview

Participants will enjoy a Library Archive tour, a Museum Collections artifact spotlight and unique seminars through two sessions outlining how we care for our collections – along with principles to assist you in caring for your baseball collection or other cherished items.

One of the highlights of this experience will be a private catered dinner in the iconic Hall of Fame Plaque Gallery.

A Hall of Fame Sustaining Membership ($100 level) is included with the package purchase - assuring a connection to Cooperstown throughout the year through our renowned publications, access to events and other great benefits.

Learn about our Collections and Archive. Care for Yours.

As the keepers of the Game’s history, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum helps fans relive their favorite moments and celebrate baseball history. Cooperstown is where these stories and memories have been protected, preserved and cared for more than 75 years.

The Museum Collection and Library Archive are substantial, encompassing more than 40,000 artifacts, 145,000 baseball cards and three million Library pieces.
