A Celebration of Hall of Famer Luis Aparicio

August 12 marks the 42nd anniversary of Luis Aparicio's induction into the Hall of Fame. And this year marks the 60th anniversary of Aparicio winning a world championship with the Baltimore Orioles. In celebration of Aparicio, we will feature museum programs with former major league pitcher Johan Santana, who won the first ever Luis Aparicio Award in 2004, and members of Aparicio's family.
11:00 am: Voices of the Game: Johan Santana (Bullpen Theater)
Joins us as we will sit down with Johan Santana to talk about his career, growing up in Venezuela, and his admiration of Aparicio.
1:30 pm: Voices of the Game: Luis Aparicio Family (Baseball Discovery Zone)
Join us as we talk to three members of Aparicio's family: his children, Luis, Jr. and Karen, and his wife, Sonya.
2:30-4:00: Viewing of Luis Aparicio Award (Baseball Discovery Zone)
This Award, which is given to annually to a Venezuelan player judged to have put forth the best individual performance in Major League Baseball, will be on display for visitors.
These programs are free of charge to those holding tickets to the Museum that day.
