Bob Uecker Tribute Jersey Worn by Robin Yount at World Series Game 1 Coming to Cooperstown
(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Two Milwaukee legends, one unforgettable moment and a jersey with a special place in Cooperstown.
As the City of Milwaukee prepares to celebrate the World Series champion Brewers with today’s victory parade, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is preparing a place in the Autumn Glory exhibit for a unique jersey.
In the ceremonies leading up to Game 1 of the Fall Classic on Oct. 23, Hall of Famer Robin Yount wore a special Brewers’ No. 19 jersey as he threw out the ceremonial first pitch. The jersey featured “Ueck” in the nameplate on the back, a tribute to longtime Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker, the Hall of Fame’s 2003 Ford C. Frick Award winner, who passed away in 2025.
“The impact that Bob Uecker made in Wisconsin, Milwaukee and for the Brewers is as big as any player who ever played here,” Yount said. “He will never be forgotten.”
The jersey will be displayed as part of the Brewers’ tribute in Autumn Glory, the Museum’s exhibit that celebrates the postseason. The exhibit will open in the coming weeks and feature additional artifacts donated by the Brewers following Wednesday’s World Series-clinching victory – the first in franchise history – including:
- Chest protector and shin guards worn by World Series Most Valuable Player William Contreras
- Hoodie worn by manager Pat Murphy during the World Series
- Bat used by Cooper Pratt in Game 4 and Game 5 when he recorded six straight hits
- Road jersey worn by captain Christian Yelich during Game 4
- Glasses worn by Aaron Ashby, who set a postseason record for relievers with 18 straight scoreless innings
- Batting gloves worn by Sal Frelick in Game 2 and Game 5
- Cap worn by Jacob Misiorowski, who recorded the win in Game 5 with 5.2 shutout innings
- Shoes worn by Brice Turang in Game 5
- Ball hit by David Hamilton for an RBI single during the eight-run fifth inning in Game 3, one of seven-straight two-out hits
The Brewers tribute will be on display through the 2027 Postseason and is included with Museum admission.
