Dean O. Cochran, Jr. Photograph Archives

The mission of the Dean O. Cochran, Jr. Photograph Archives is to collect, preserve, and make accessible photographic objects documenting the history of baseball. With more than 300,000 objects, the Photograph Archives collects items in all photographic formats covering all aspects of baseball including, but not limited to, Hall of Famers, Major and Minor League players and teams, the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, the Negro Leagues, stadiums, events, amateur baseball, and international baseball. These objects come from a variety of sources such as news and wire service photographs; publicity shots issued by the teams; images captured by professional sports and studio photographers; classic posed portraits used by baseball card manufacturers; and images taken by fans. Online access to the photographic collections is limited but an increasing number of records describing the Hall of Fame’s photographic collections are available through PASTIME. For general information about our collection, please contact us at photoarchives@baseballhall.org
