Title IX: A Salute to Women's History
Fifty years ago, Title IX made history in creating equal opportunity for all. On June 23rd 1972, Title IX was passed – prohibiting discrimination based on sex in schooling and education programs.
To honor the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will host special programming celebrating women in baseball. Guests can experience unique museum artifacts, learn more about the history of women in baseball, and participate in programming throughout the day.

Thursday June 23rd
10:30 am: Plaques of the Gallery Tour
Gain insight into the history of the Hall of Fame Gallery and the process by which plaques are made.
11:30 am: Artifact Spotlight- Women in Baseball
Hall of Fame staff share the stories of unseen items from our collection of over 40,000 artifacts that are not currently on display. This presentation will showcase various incredible moments from women in baseball!
12:00 pm-1:30 pm: Women in Baseball Pop-Up
This interactive Pop-Up is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX. Explore images, artifacts, and items from the Hall of Fame’s education and museum collections that tell the story of women in baseball.
On display for the first time: Rachel Balkovec's jersey and Alyssa Nakken's helmet.
2:00 pm: Dirt on Their Skirts
Women and girls have always loved and played the game and have worked hard to fulfill their baseball dreams. Analyze milestones and events in the history of women and girls in baseball to determine how their achievements led to greater opportunities for all.
3:30 pm: So You Think You Know Baseball?
Test your knowledge of baseball history in this interactive game show for fans of all ages! Make your way through all nine innings, and you could win a free commemorative Hall of Fame gift.
