Author Series: Scott Longert

On Wednesday, August 17, author Scott Longert will discuss his new book, Victory on Two Fronts: The Cleveland Indians and Baseball Through the World War II Era.

Beginning with the Cleveland Indians’ hard luck during World War II, this thrilling history follows the team through its historic role in racial integration and its legendary postwar comeback. Augmented by player photographs and filled with colorful stories, this book offers insight into both baseball and the World War II era.

Scott Longert, the author of five earlier baseball books, is one of the leading historians on the Cleveland franchise.

The program begins at 1 pm in the Bullpen Theater and virtually. There will be a book signing in the Library Atrium following the program.
