Celebration of America 250
Join us as we celebrate the national pastime on none other than America's birthday! Honor the country's 250th birthday and the stars and stripes around the Museum!
Take a guided tour of the Hall of Fame Gallery, explore our Baseball Discovery Zone, experience our curiosity carts, or play trivia games as we celebrate America's birthday.
All events are included with Museum admission. Program offerings are subject to change daily.
10:00 am: Plaques of the Gallery Tour: Learn about the history of our Plaque Gallery, which first opened in 1958. (meets at the Buck O'Neil Statue on the Museum's 1st Floor)
11:00 am: Curiosity Cart: Stop by this interactive activity station to learn about the evolution of baseball equipment. (located in the Whole New Ballgame Exhibit, Museum's 2nd Floor)
11:30 am: Who Said It? Yogi Berra vs. the American President: Can you figure out who said it, the wise Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, or one of the presidents? (Baseball Discovery Zone, Museum's 1st Floor)
1:00 pm: Celebrate America 250 Party: Write letters to our troops and check out hands-on artifacts from our Education Collection. (Baseball Discovery Zone, Museum's 1st Floor)
2:00 pm: America 250 Trivia: Test your knowledge of American history and baseball history. (Baseball Discovery Zone, Museum's 1st Floor)

New York Yankees first baseman Lou Gehrig announces his retirement during his famous "Luckiest Man" speech on July 4, 1939 at Yankee Stadium. Gehrig passed away nearly two years later from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He was voted to the Hall of Fame by special election in 1939. (National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum)
