The Hammer and the Judge
Celebrate the significance of April 8th by highlighting memorable moments in the lives and careers of Hank Aaron and Frank Robinson.
The Hammer and The Judge examines the historic date of April 8, the anniversary of two of baseball’s most important events: Hank Aaron’s record-breaking 715th home run and Frank Robinson’s debut as the major leagues’ first Black manager.
Join a museum educator to explore these history-making events, which took place on April 8 of 1974 and 1975. Learn more about how these two Hall of Famers persevered and succeeded despite facing enormous obstacles and pressure.
The program will take place in the Bullpen Theater and free with museum admission.
