Our Virtual Author Series will feature Mort Zachter, who has written arguably the definitive biography of new Hall of Fame electee Gil Hodges. Zachter’s book, Gil Hodges: A Hall of Fame Life, explores the New York City icon who became one of the finest first basemen of all time while playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers. A man of strong character and profound leadership skills, Hodges later managed the Washington Senators and New York Mets. In 1969, in just his second season with the expansion Mets, Hodges guided the team to perhaps the biggest upset in the history of World Series play
