VIRTUAL- Baseball’s American Voices: Gerald Early

Coming up on Wednesday, February 4 at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, the Hall of Fame’s Virtual Author Series features a conversation with acclaimed author and historian Gerald Early, who will discuss his new book, Play Harder: The Triumph of Black Baseball in America.

In collaboration with the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, the book explores how Black Americans have shaped baseball from the Civil War to the game today. Dr. Early will discuss the roots of Black baseball, the struggles faced by Black players, managers, and owners, and the triumphs of legendary figures like Bud Fowler, Satchel Paige, and Willie Mays.
