Virtual Field Trip: American History Through Baseball Uniforms
Baseball uniforms tell us a great deal about American history. Just by studying changes to uniforms, we can correspond those changes to real life events and trends. Baseball uniforms change often to reflect key events in American history during the 20th and 21st centuries. Tune in to learn about the early use of wool uniforms, the addition of the “Health” patch during WWII, the influence of color television and the adoption of polyester as a fabric of choice over wool and flannel.
