Voices of the Game: Cannon Street All Stars

On Wednesday, August 20, the Hall of Fame will host a special Voices of the Game program with members of the famed Cannon Street All-Stars, who were denied the chance to play in the 1955 Little League World Series.

That year, Little League sanctioned only one southern-based league that featured Black players. That league was located in Charleston, S.C., and out of that league came a team called the Cannon Street All-Stars, located at the Cannon Street YMCA, who won Charleston’s city-wide Little League tournament but were prevented from participating in the state tournament and the Little League World Series.

We will talk to some of the members of that historic team in the Grandstand Theater, beginning at 10:30 am.
