Summer Programming Begins Monday, June 16 at the Hall of Fame
(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum offers a wide variety of educational programs and special events throughout the year to connect fans with the game’s history. But on June 16, the Museum’s Summer Programming Series begins – providing visitors with even more opportunities for baseball fun.
This year’s schedule brings back some traditional favorites as well as new programs. All programs are included with admission to the Museum.
The daily summer schedule, which runs June 16 through Aug. 29 but is subject to change, includes:
The Plaques of the Gallery: Learn about the history of the Hall of Fame Gallery and the process by which each plaque is made and installed in this 20-minute guided tour. The tour starts by the Buck O’Neil statue on the first floor.
Cooperstown Curiosity Cart: Visitors can drop by these informal activity stations to learn about various aspects of baseball, from the evolution of equipment and science behind the game to utilizing scouting reports to identify players.
Open Hours in the Baseball Discovery Zone: This interactive learning space allows families to explore baseball history through hands-on items from the Hall of Fame’s education collection.
All-Star Art: Families and visitors can stop by the Baseball Discovery Zone and take part in our activity of the day. This art activity could be themed after one of our exhibits, or just a fun baseball piece of art to create.
Black Baseball Pop-Up: Follow our timeline taking us from baseball’s early days of integrated teams through the segregated era of the Negro Leagues and beyond re-integration led by Jackie Robinson.
Baseball Jeopardy: This program is designed to create a fun way for visitors to test their knowledge of various categories pertaining to baseball. Visitors are encouraged to work together with teams to formulate answers to win the game and a prize.
Artifact Spotlights: Get a close-up view of baseball's past. With only about 10 percent of the Museum’s three-dimensional artifacts on exhibit, visitors will hear about the untold stories of artifacts in the collection.
The programming lineup changes daily. Please click here for the Museum’s calendar.
