Summer Programming Underway at the Hall of Fame
(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is committed to helping every fan learn more about the game and engage with some of its most iconic moments.
This summer, the Museum is creating new ways for visitors to experience baseball history.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Summer Programming Series, which launched on June 1, offers visitors daily opportunities to glance inside the Museum’s archives, test their baseball knowledge, study the sport’s evolution and learn how their favorite players become enshrined in bronze.
The summer schedule, subject to change, runs through Aug. 31 and includes both returning favorites and new additions:
Artifact Spotlights: Get a close-up view of baseball’s past. With only about 10 percent of the Museum’s 40,000 three-dimensional artifacts on exhibit, visitors will hear about the untold stories of artifacts in the collection.
Baseball Trivia: This program is designed to create a fun way for visitors to test their knowledge of various categories pertaining to baseball.
Curiosity Cart: Visitors can drop by these informal activity stations to learn about various aspects of baseball, from the evolution of equipment and science behind the game to utilizing scouting reports to identify players.
Bartholomay Baseball Discovery Zone: This interactive room allows families to explore baseball history through hands-on items from the Hall of Fame’s education collection – everything from uniform jerseys and caps to bats, balls, gloves and helmets. During open hours in the Bartholomay Baseball Discovery Zone, fans can try on a variety of uniforms and handle many kinds of equipment.
Plaques of the Gallery Tour: Learn about the history of the Hall of Fame Plaque Gallery, which first opened in 1958 and now showcases 351 bronze plaques. The tour meets at the Buck O’Neil Statue on the Museum’s first floor.
The programming lineup rotates daily. Please click here for the Museum’s calendar and for more information on events at the Hall of Fame.
