Museum Hosts ‘Field of Dreams’ Actor Dwier Brown for Two Programs July 29
(COOPERSTOWN, N.Y.) – Dwier Brown helped build a timeless story in the movie Field of Dreams while portraying John Kinsella.
Now, to paraphrase the film’s signature line, he will come…to Cooperstown.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will host two events with Brown on Friday, July 29. The veteran actor, whose character repaired his relationship with his son and the film’s protagonist – Ray Kinsella – through baseball, will be featured in an Author Series event at 1 p.m. in the Museum’s Bullpen Theater. Brown will discuss his book “If You Build It…A Book About Fathers, Fate and Field of Dreams”, which focuses on his career as an actor, his experiences on the set of the film and his relationship with his father.
The Author Series event is free with Museum admission, and a book signing will follow in the Library Atrium.
Virtual participants may follow the program on the Museum’s Facebook page.
At 7 p.m. on July 29, the Museum will host a free screening of Field of Dreams in the Grandstand Theater. A short question and answer session with Dwier Brown will follow the screening of the film.
Tickets for the screening of Field of Dreams, which takes place after regular Museum hours, are free but must be reserved in advance by clicking here.
