Baseball Writers’ Association of America Election Results Revealed Tuesday, Jan. 20
(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – The results of the 82nd Baseball Writers’ Association of America Hall of Fame election will be revealed at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Jan. 20, live from the Hall of Fame Plaque Gallery in Cooperstown.
MLB Network’s extensive coverage, including interviews and analysis, will begin with The Leadoff Spot at 9 a.m. ET, Hot Stove at 10 a.m. ET and a two-hour edition of MLB Now from Cooperstown at 2 p.m. ET.
MLB Network’s official Hall of Fame program will begin at 4 p.m. ET, with Hall of Fame President Josh Rawitch delivering the results live at 6 p.m. ET. The announcement will be simulcast on MLB.com and at facebook.com/baseballhall.
The 2026 BBWAA ballot features 27 players, including 12 new candidates and 15 returnees. Any candidate who receives votes on at least 75 percent of all ballots cast will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026.
The 27 candidates (with the returnees in bold and their 2025 BBWAA election percentage in parentheses) include: Bobby Abreu (19.5%), Carlos Beltrán (70.3%), Ryan Braun, Mark Buehrle (11.4%), Shin-Soo Choo, Edwin Encarnación, Gio González, Alex Gordon, Cole Hamels, Félix Hernández (20.6%), Torii Hunter (5.1%), Andruw Jones (66.2%), Matt Kemp, Howie Kendrick, Nick Markakis, Daniel Murphy, Dustin Pedroia (11.9%), Hunter Pence, Andy Pettitte (27.9%), Rick Porcello, Manny Ramírez (34.3%), Álex Rodríguez (37.1%), Francisco Rodríguez (10.2%), Jimmy Rollins (18.0%), Chase Utley (39.8%), Omar Vizquel (17.8%) and David Wright (8.1%).
Jeff Kent was elected by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee in December and will join any BBWAA electees at Induction Weekend, July 24-27 in Cooperstown.
