Fergie Jenkins to Host Pathfinder Village-Baseball Hall of Fame Golf Invitational Sept. 15
(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – On the 30th anniversary of his Hall of Fame induction, Fergie Jenkins will return to Cooperstown in support of some longtime Central New York friends.
Jenkins will serve as the celebrity host for the Pathfinder Village-Baseball Hall of Fame Golf Invitational Sept. 15 at the Leatherstocking Golf Course in Cooperstown. As the master of ceremonies, Jenkins – a 1991 Hall of Fame inductee who won 284 games and the 1971 National League Cy Young Award over a 19-year big league career with the Phillies, Cubs, Rangers and Red Sox – will finish the 18th hole with each participant at the Wednesday, Sept. 15, event and serve as the speaker at that evening’s fundraiser dinner.
Jenkins will be returning to Cooperstown one week after he is scheduled to attend the Sept. 8 Induction Ceremony.
The Pathfinder Village-Baseball Hall of Fame Golf Invitational will begin with a 12 p.m. shotgun start and features a chance to win team prizes worth more than $6,500, with amateur foursomes playing a two-best ball round on one of the Northeast's most storied courses.
