Museum Offers Weekly In-Depth Look at Baseball’s Memorable Moments through Friday Focus

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – As the calendar turns to the excitement of autumn, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum debuts a new in-person series designed to highlight some of the game’s biggest initiatives and moments.

Friday Focus, a new programming series for Museum guests, begins Sept. 9 with a look at the heroes of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Events will include an 11:30 a.m. Artifact Spotlight featuring some of the Museum pieces documenting 9/11 as well as a 2 p.m. showing in the Museum’s Bullpen Theater of the Virtual Legends of the Game feature with Hall of Famer Joe Torre that was originally released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the attacks.

Future Friday Focus events include:

Sept. 16: Baseball Cards – Explore the history and tradition of baseball card collecting
Sept. 23: Two-Sport Stars – A look at some of the amazing athletes who excelled in baseball and other sports
Sept. 30: Roberto Clemente – Celebrate the Great One on the 50th anniversary of the day the Pirates’ legend recorded his 3,000th hit
Oct. 7: Pop Culture – Explore the intersection of the National Pastime and Popular Culture
Oct. 14: Latino Béisbol – Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with some of the game’s greatest players
Oct. 21: Breast Cancer Awareness – Explore baseball’s efforts to stand up to cancer
Oct. 28: World Series – The 118th Fall Classic begins Oct. 28

Friday Focus will feature Museum programming throughout each day. All events are included with Museum admission.
