Hall of Fame Announces MTM Publishing as New Agent
(COOPERSTOWN, N.Y.) – The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is pleased to announce a partnership with Valerie Tomaselli of MTM Publishing, who will help it develop books and place them in the publishing marketplace.
As part of its educational mandate, the Hall of Fame has published illustrated books based on its collections and archives with various publishers, including DK Publishing, Simon & Schuster and Little Brown. With the new arrangement, the Museum will open new markets to the books published under its name.
Tomaselli, through MTM Publishing, has more than 30 years of experience in producing books and placing them with publishers across a wide range of channels: Nonfiction, illustrated, educational and reference for both adult and children’s markets. A baseball fan herself, Tomaselli says one of her main goals is reaching more readers in more categories.
“The Hall has such a vast array of resources,” said Tomaselli, “to bring to publishing partners. Its exhibitions alone – rigorously researched, thoughtfully scripted, beautifully presented – offer surefire publishing opportunities. And the expertise of the staff, along with the Hall’s reputation, will bring unmatched credibility to all of its publishing partners.”
“What Valerie brings to the table,” said Hall of Fame Vice President of Retail Marketing and Licensing Sean Gahagan, “is experience across a wide range of publishing categories. With her expertise and the Hall’s rich content, we hope to see Hall of Fame books available to baseball fans through a variety of retail outlets, libraries, and academic conferences.”
Tomaselli is meeting with publishers in both the adult and children’s markets over the next few months to discuss the Hall’s publishing resources and to present a menu of book ideas. To become part of the discussion, contact her at [email protected].
