Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Visitors Urged to Utilize Special Parking Options

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Visitors to Cooperstown for the 2021 Induction Ceremony are advised to utilize several parking and transportation options in an effort to alleviate potential delays and traffic problems.

The 2021 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown. Travelers are advised to allow plenty of time to find parking and transportation to the following points close to the Induction. Because of its small size – with a year-round population of fewer than 2,000 residents – Cooperstown will fill up quickly. Parking arrangements detailed below will be in place for Wednesday, Sept. 8.

Three trolley lots, located just outside the village limits and color-coded in red, blue and yellow, are available for those visitors in the immediate Cooperstown village area. Parking in these lots is free, and a trolley ticket good for unlimited daily transportation costs $5.

Parking spots in these lots are limited. Trolleys will run from the lots to regular stops in the village and to and from the Induction site. The Hall of Fame will provide free shuttle buses from the corner of Main and Fair streets to the Induction site, with regular service from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and then resuming at the conclusion of the Induction Ceremony. Shuttles will not run during the Induction Ceremony.

Two special paid parking lots will be available only on Wednesday, Sept. 8. These lots are located just beyond the Blue Trolley Lot at Cooperstown Central School (paid lot is Cy Young Lot) and on Route 33 just east of the Induction Site (paid lot is the Hank Aaron Lot).

The 2021 Induction Ceremony will feature the inductions of Derek Jeter, Marvin Miller, Ted Simmons and Larry Walker as the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020. The Induction Ceremony takes place at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center, one mile south of the Hall of Fame on Susquehanna Avenue. Admission to the Induction Ceremony is free.

The Ceremony will be televised live exclusively on MLB Network.

The Museum will maintain its summer hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sept. 7, with special hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in effect on Sept. 8. Sept. 9 will mark the return to regular 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours. As always, Hall of Fame Members receive free admission.
