Top
No. 3 The Game, to consist of Twelve Nine innings each, of three hands out each; should the number of aces be equal, the umpires, if mutually agreed may direct an additional inning to be played; but if not agreed the game to be a tie, and to be played over upon the same ground the first succeeding fair play day.
No. 4 The Players, shall be those of good standing in the clubs to which they belong and shall be paying and playing members of one club only, and they shall be playing members of said club the season when the match is played.

Middle
No. 5 The Pitcher must pitch the ball fairly and not throw it at the bat.
No. 6 A Ball knocked behind the range of the first and or third base, or tipped, is foul and when caught either flying or on the first bound, is a hand out.

Bottom
No. 7 Three Balls being struck at and missed and the last one caught, either flying or on the first bound behind the bat, is a hand out; if not caught is considered fair and the striker bound to run.
No. 8 A Ball being struck fair, and caught flying, is a hand out; and no ace nor base can be made when a ball is caught, nor when a foul strike is made.
