The Captains of each side shall have the right to change the positions of the players during the game and in case of an accident happening to any player another member of his club may take his place and the game continued until the innings are all played out.
The Umpires and the Referee are disqualified from serving if they are interested in any bet made upon the match.

Middle
We beg leave to express the desire of the Knickerbocker Base Ball Club that this convention take such action as will tend to discountenance all betting or gambling upon on the result of a match upon the field during the playing of a match, and to restrain all the friends of the respective clubs from the expression of remarks [of] a similar nature within hearing of the players, [illegible] as derogatory to the game and tending to destroy that harmony that they hope will never cease to animate the players of Base Ball.

Bottom
The above are offered to the convention as the Rules desired and the views held by the representatives of the Knickerbocker Base Ball Club with the suggestion that, whatever may be the action of the convention, its decisions be referred to each respective club for ratification and adoption, publishing their acceptance or rejection in the Mercury and Porter’s Spirit of the Times the next issue succeeding the action of the clubs.
