THE NATIONAL BASEBALL HALL OF FAME AND THE YAWKEY FOUNDATION

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s relationship with the Yawkey Foundation began more than 30 years ago. The Yawkey Foundation’s unwavering support of the Museum has significantly advanced the Museum’s mission to preserve history, honor excellence and connect generations.

The Foundation, over this time, has generously supported the Museum, providing grants for projects including the construction of the Hall of Fame Library, the Diamond Dreams: Women in Baseball exhibit, artifact and document conservation, digital preservation, collection storage and impactful educational programs.

When the Foundation learned about the Museum’s Black Baseball Initiative, which honors the history of Black baseball and celebrates its impact on the game and on our country, its leadership expressed a desire to support the project, which aligns with the Foundation’s mission to "invest in impactful nonprofits providing resources, opportunity, and dignity to the vulnerable and underserved." In addition to its support of this pivotal initiative and exhibit at The Hall, the Foundation is also a long-time partner of the Jackie Robinson Foundation and Museum, a relationship that began in the 1980s and continues to this day. With these investments and other programs that support and promote access to youth and amateur baseball and softball programs, the Foundation’s meaningful investments have extended to diverse audiences and continue to this day.
