Willie Upshaw's eighth-inning single scored Carmen Castillo with the tying run as the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs played to a 1-1 tie in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 1, 1988.

Future Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg provided the Cubs' only run when he homered over the right field fence at Doubleday Field in the first inning.

Sandberg's future Hall of Fame teammate, Andre Dawson, was 0-for-1 at the plate.

Mike Walker allowed one run over six innings of work for the Indians, while Cubs starter Drew Hall struck out six over three scoreless innings.

The result marked the fourth tie in Hall of Fame Game history.
