Watch the Stars at July 23 Hall of Fame Parade of Legends Saturday
(COOPERSTOWN, N.Y.) – The biggest gathering of Hall of Famers on the baseball calendar will feature a parade that fans won’t soon forget.
A chance to see the game’s legends and heroes up close, the Hall of Fame Parade of Legends returns at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 23. This year, the parade will originate at the intersection of Lake Street and Chestnut Street, then proceed down Chestnut Street toward Main Street and onto Main Street before concluding at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The Parade of Legends will feature more than 50 returning Hall of Famers as well as Class of 2022 members Jim Kaat, Tony Oliva and David Ortiz. BBWAA Career Excellence Award winner Tim Kurkjian will also be featured as well as family of late Class of 2022 members Gil Hodges, Minnie Miñoso and Buck O’Neil along with family of the late Ford C. Frick Award winner Jack Graney.
Expected to last about 75 minutes, the Parade of Legends will also feature the award-winning Baldwinsville (N.Y.) High School Band, Cooperstown Youth Baseball teams and even some surprise guest mascots. The parade will be streamed live at MLB.com.
The Parade of Legends is just part of the July 22-25 Induction Weekend in Cooperstown as Bud Fowler, Gil Hodges, Jim Kaat, Minnie Miñoso, Tony Oliva, Buck O’Neil and David Ortiz are inducted as the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2022. The Induction Ceremony takes place at 1:30 p.m. on July 24 on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center, one mile south of the Hall of Fame on Susquehanna Avenue. Admission to the Induction Ceremony is free.
The 2022 Induction Ceremony will be televised live exclusively on MLB Network and broadcast nationally on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum maintains the following Hall of Fame Weekend hours: Friday, July 22: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday, July 23: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Plaque Gallery closes at 4:30 p.m.); Sunday, July 24: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Monday, July 25: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. For Hall of Fame Members, doors open at 7 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and at 8 a.m. on Monday. As always, Hall of Fame Members receive free admission.
