(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – It’s the unofficial start of summer, and the heroes of the National Pastime will be in Cooperstown to celebrate.
The ninth Hall of Fame Classic will be held at historic Doubleday Field on Saturday, May 27 as Hall of Famers and recently retired players suit up for the annual seven-inning legends game. Presented by Ford Motor Company and fueled with assistance from Major League Baseball, the Classic highlights a weekend of family entertainment programs designed to celebrate the timeless connection of baseball across generations.
First pitch for the Hall of Fame Classic is scheduled for 1:05 p.m., with the Home Run Contest beginning at noon.
Hall of Famers Phil Niekro and Ozzie Smith will reprise their role as team managers, with the full roster of Hall of Famers and Classic players to be announced later this spring.
Following the Classic, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will host its Night at the Museum program, now in its fifth season. Hall of Fame legends and former players will greet fans throughout the Museum on Saturday evening beginning at 6 p.m. Legends participants will canvass the Museum during the course of a two-hour event that will bring the Museum to life with special programs and interactions.
