LEGACY GIVING

One way that you can ensure that the memories of the game’s greatest moments and players are preserved for the next generation of passionate baseball fans is to make a legacy gift as part of your estate planning.

At the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, we are committed to preserving the history of our National Pastime for generations to come. One way that you can ensure that the memories of the game’s greatest moments and players are preserved for the next generation of passionate baseball fans is to make a legacy gift as part of your estate planning. Estate gifts leave a lasting legacy for you and help ensure that baseball’s rich history, and the priceless artifacts that document it, can be enjoyed by future generations. There are a number of flexible giving options available to you that will make a lasting impact in Cooperstown.

GIVING THROUGH YOUR WILL

Make a gift (bequest) through your will to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum to ensure future generations of fans always have a home to celebrate the history of baseball. A bequest is one of the simplest ways to make a significant impact. In as little as one sentence, you can update your estate plans with this type of gift.

TYPES OF BEQUESTS

• Specific Bequest: A gift of a specific dollar amount or specific assets (i.e. securities, real estate or personal property) that you arrange for the Museum to receive.

• Percentage Bequest: Instead of a fixed gift amount from a specific bequest, a percentage bequest designates a set percentage of your estate to support the Museum.

• Residual Bequest: This type of bequest gives all or a portion of the balance of your estate to the Museum after the payment of expenses and any gifts to other beneficiaries.

• Contingent Bequest : A contingent bequest gift is made to the Museum only if the bequest designated to the primary beneficiary or beneficiaries cannot be met.
